What a year!
So much has happened in both my personal and professional life as an artist. One huge highlight is the birth of our granddaughter, Ahrie Embers Rebecca Ferreira born March 6. Ahrie is our second grandchild, Weston Cashman is our first grandson.
Painting and teaching highlights have been plein air workshops, such as the Lake Nipissing Workshop at Memquisit Lodge in September, and meeting new friends and enjoying friendships from past workshops. |

In October, I spent a week in the spectacular Adirondacks, The Plein Air Salon Fall Color Week shared with fellow artist, John Lynch and 100 other artists. Getting to meet Eric Rhoads, founder and publisher of Plein Air Magazine, and presenting him with my book was a highlight. I met some lovely artists and new friends whom I will always remember and cherish. It’s one of those trips I’ve been wanting to take for some time, the experience was more than wonderful. Despite a traumatic highway encounter it will remain a “deer memory”. Link: Fall Color Week article

Later in the month, I participated in the Great Migration Paint Out in Kingsville, Ontario. It was a first for me visiting this beautiful, agriculturally rich, and picturesque area. I was able to stay with a lovely and generous couple, Eleanor and Roy Walker who spoiled me over the 4 days. The event was topped off by an exhibition and sale.
My painting, "Morning Walk-Lakeside Park" was awarded the Arts Society of Kingsville Award of Merit and sold!
I was so thankful to be OCTOBERBLEST! |

Another autumn highlight was a one-day plein air painting workshop in Edwards Gardens with Avenue Road Arts School. Evan Hutchinson, ARAS Co-owner, director and artist also attended to keep an eye on things. She also created a lovely reel of our plein air painting event. Artists who participated are pictured below. Event video on Instagram |
